The Marketing Technology War: A New Game of Thrones [#SlideShare]

If you’re like me, then you’re anxiously anticipating the release of Game of Thrones season five this weekend. Now that the show’s producers have finally confirmed that the show will soon outpace the books (a question that die-hard Game of Thrones fans have been wondering for a while now), things may soon start to get very interesting.

But it isn’t just in Westeros that we’re seeing a clash between houses. For those of us who don’t have HBO, we can watch our very own Game of Thrones just by looking at the Marketing Technology landscape. Every year, we see more and more marketing technologies vying for supremacy, from email marketing solutions to social media monitoring tools. While some of these dominate their own niche markets, others aren’t so interested in playing nice, and are beginning to cross borders into new territories…er, markets.

While marketers try to wrap their heads around all of the technologies at their disposal, a new threat closes in from the north: your competitors. When time is of the essence, how can marketers unite all of the marketing technologies at their fingertips and outsell their competitors at the same time?

The answer may not be as far-fetched as you would think.
