“But wait, there’s more!”
Sound familiar? The overused quip that accompanies almost every infomercial seems perfect for our “Favorite Blogs” series. While we’ve already talked about general marketing, industry thought leaders, content marketing, and technology blogs, there are still plenty of categories we’ve yet to cover. This week, we’re focusing on social media blogs!
Here’s a list of our top 5 social media blogs (in no particular order):
Jeff Bullas’ Blog
Ranked #14 on Forbes’ list of Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers, Jeff Bullas uses his blog to share wisdom about social media and online marketing. Articles and infographics cover Twitter, blogging, Facebook, video, SEO, LinkedIn, social media strategy, and content marketing. If you want social media advice from a reputable and recognized source, consider starting here.
“3 Digital Marketing Strategies You Should Not Ignore” is our pick of the week off Jeff Bullas’ blog.
Social Media Explorer
One of the obvious choices for this list, Social Media Explorer is a digital and social media marketing strategy house. Their blog is an excellent resource for all things social — from thought leadership and news to social media analysis and insights. Content comes from a diverse editorial team made up of subject matter experts, business owners, consultants, designers, and entrepreneurs.
If you like writing tinged with humor, you might enjoy the humorous take on FeedBurner in the article “The Slow Death of FeedBurner Accelerates.”
Radian6’s blog is divided into several categories, all based on aspects of social media. If you’re looking for content related to engagement, measurement, and social media strategy, Radian6 is a great place to start. Posts go up several times per week, so there’s always something fresh just waiting to be read.

SocialMouths was created by Francisco Rosales, who openly professes that his marketing experience came from putting his own money on the line to build something from the ground up, rather than from school. Rosales has been named to the Top 100 Influencers in Social Media by Social Technology Review, and has been featured in several Top 10 lists for Social Media Blogs. Social media outlets, SEO, infographics, brand perception, and social media effectiveness are just a few topics that are covered on the SocialMouths blog.
Have questions about specific social sites? SocialMouths often features articles that focus on a single social site, like “Understanding Reddit Once and For All [Infographic].”
Social Media Examiner
Not to be confused with the aforementioned Social Media Explorer, the Social Media Examiner blog offers a plethora of “How-to” content, videos, and case studies produced by an editorial team of more than 90 writers. The blog has also been ranked as one of the world’s Top 10 Business Blogs by Technorati and AdAge.
