Pardot Announces Industry-First Apple Mail Plug-In

Pardot makes link tracking and CRM integration available from within Apple Mail.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA – DEC 9, 2008

Marketing automation and demand generation leader Pardot today announced the release of an industry-first Apple Mail plug-in. With the plug-in, Prospect Insight users can send tracked links to prospects directly from the Apple Mail interface, increasing the day-to-day ease of use for sales representatives.Pardot began offering plug-ins for Outlook 2007 and Thunderbird in 2007.

“The Apple Mail plug-in was a direct result of feedback from our clients,” says VP of Marketing Adam Blitzer. “The ability to send tracked links without even having to visit the application makes sending one-to-one messages a breeze, while still providing the value of capturing prospect activities. Now Mac users can have that same advantage.”

The Apple Mail plug-in allows users to send prospects emails through their standard email client, with the option of tracking each sent email by using the “Send with PI” button. Links will be rewritten with a unique URL, tracking the recipient from the first click. The email communications will be displayed as an activity in the recipient’s Prospect Insight record. If a CRM connector is in place, the activity will also be added to the lead record in the CRM system.

Benefits include:

  • All links in the emails are tracked, allowing sales reps to see if prospects click on anything. This helps sales reps better understand their interest levels
  • Once a link is clicked, all subsequent activity on the web site is associated with the prospect so that the prospect’s ongoing interest level can be monitored
  • Any emails sent with Prospect Insight will automatically create a new or sync with an existing lead in an integrated CRM system without any additional work if the lead is not already present
  • Prospect Insight will also put a copy of the email sent into an integrated CRM system as an activity so that reps can refer to it later
