Social Posting to Twitter and Facebook

Concept

Now Enterprise Edition and higher accounts can add social connectors for Twitter and Facebook accounts and post to one or more accounts simultaneously. Pardot will track and shorten the links (using your custom bit.ly pro URL if you have set that up). Pardot will keep track of clicks (and display post/network led to the click), retweets, likes, and comments and update them for up to 30 days in a report.

Posting

Like TweetDeck for example, simply select the connectors from which you would like to post, insert any links (there are quick link icons to find your forms, landing pages, files, or redirects) and either post immediately or at a set time.

Reporting

A social post report will show you how many people interacted with your post as well as whether or not any tracked prospects clicked a link in the message.

Prospect Activity

You will also see social post clicks (with the applicable social icon) for any prospects that click a link.

Wow! Moving into the Social CRM / Automation space- surprising but certainly welcome!

It’s just too many steps to track a link separately and then post it through TweetDeck, etc. We thought making it native is the way to do. We eat our own dog food so that helps with ideas.

    :( wish i had a cool bike like that….

    My scooter looks lame now.

Hmm… I think you have lost me there Joe :-)

Sorry.. It was an analogy linking back to christmas mornings from my youth.. (You get a sweet new scooter for christmas and then you see your friends new bike. Suddenly your scooter is not as cool anymore…

I dont have the ‘Enterprise’ edition of Pardot and thus i don’t have this wicked cool new feature. So i guess that makes the Profesional edition sorta like the scooter in my analogy. Don’t get me wrong, Pardot Professional rocks! It’s just not a slick new bike on christmas morning…

I apologize if that was vague. :)

          Ah ha! Mystery solved.

We’ll still be releasing most of our functionality to Professional edition but occasionally reserve things for Enterprise and/or Ultimate.

Any chance this also supports bulk scheduling? If/when it does, bye bye HootSuite!

That looks like an awesome feature. No immediate plans but you never know… We surprised you with this one after all!

I’m with Nolin on this! I’m curious to see how that will play out.

Would love to have the option of changing the “via” information shown on the tweet, essentially so that it does not include “Pardot”.

    • Adam Blitzer November 22, 2011 at 9:45 am #

Hi Michelle — we have to put something there per Twitter’s rules. If we let clients do their own it would require you guys each have “apps” which is a lot of overhead. Perhaps we can change it to something more innocuous like “via Social Posts”?

Another functionality enhancement request – the ability to be able to retweet out of Pardot.
    Or have I missed something?

    • Adam Blitzer November 21, 2011 at 1:19 pm #

Ah — good idea. No real way to auto-retweet yet (you’d have to copy and paste — e.g. the hard way). I do like the idea of eventually pulling in certain tweets to make available for retweeting though!
