The August New Feature Roundup: Inactive Automations Report, A/B Testing Toggle, & More

As we wrap up the last of the summer months, we’re thrilled to share three exciting new product enhancements we’ve been working on this summer: monthly inactive automation reports, A/B toggling, and wait time on triggers. We’re hoping these enhancements help to make our customers’ lives just a bit easier — check them out!

Feature 1: Monthly Inactive Automations Report

Managing all of the active automations within your account can become overwhelming, particularly for marketing teams that may have multiple users creating assets.  As a best practice, it’s always recommended to pause or delete automation assets that are no longer in use, but sometimes it can be difficult to tell which are still providing value and which are no longer needed or useful.

The new Monthly Inactive Automations Report will help you do just that — providing you with easy visibility into the Engagement Programs, Drip Programs, Automation Rules, and Dynamic Lists in your account that have been inactive over the past 30 days.  

Wondering what specifically qualifies as an inactive automation asset?

  • Drip and Engagement Programs: No prospects have started the program, and no prospects have moved through the program within the past 30 days.
  • Dynamic Lists: The list has not matched or unmatched any prospects within the past 30 days.
  • Automation Rules: The rule is not paused and has not matched any prospects within the past 30 days.

The email report will provide you with the five most recent Engagement Programs, Drip Programs, Automation Rules, and Dynamic Lists that have become inactive, and will link you to new views that will display the full list of inactive assets. You can then choose to pause or delete all of those that are no longer providing value. For more information on this particular update, please check out our Knowledge Base article on the topic.

Feature 2: A/B Toggling

A/B testing is one of the most effective ways to figure out what’s working in your marketing campaigns and what isn’t, and A/B Toggling makes this process even easier. Now, once you’ve determined which version is performing better in your test, you can easily pick the version that you want to keep (using a thumbnail preview and the subject line) and use the toggle turn the test the off. Also with this release, you have more control when you copy an A/B test, with the option to copy either version or keep both. The copy dialogue will help you choose the right one by showing you which is the winner alongside other information about the email versions you are copying. Interested in learning more? Feature 3: Wait Time on Triggers

Engagement Studio triggers give you the power to send your prospects to the next stages of your buying cycle in real time — the program takes action right when your prospects do. This functionality is perfect for competitive scenarios or short buying cycles (i.e. if you wanted to notify a sales rep immediately when a prospect lands on your pricing page).

However, there are scenarios where users might like to hold all prospects on a trigger for a specified period of time before sending them to the next steps in the flow. For instance, leading up to an event, you may want every prospect to receive emails every three days (no matter if they interact with previous content or not).

For this reason, we’ve now added wait times to Engagement Studio triggers — customers can now specify a ‘wait’ period on triggers that will hold prospects on that step before moving them to the next stage in the flow.
