Paid Search

Concept

Prospect Insight can hook into your Google AdWords account and track prospects that reach you through paid search. You can tie cost data from AdWords to opportunity data from your CRM to determine your true cost per qualified lead and search engine marketing ROI.

Importing Paid Search Campaigns from Google AdWords

  • Click Import Paid Search Campaign
  • Select your Google AdWords customer number.
  • Select the AdWords campaign that you would like to import.
  • Choose a Prospect Insight campaign with which to associate your AdWords campaign. Visitors coming from your paid search ads will be tagged with this Prospect Insight campaign.
NOTE – Many Prospect Insight clients associate each of their AdWords campaigns with a Prospect Insight campaign called "AdWords" that they have created.
  • Each AdGroup and Ad within the AdWords campaign will have been imported. Repeat the above process as many times as is necessary to import all of your AdWords campaigns.
  • Your AdWords destination URLs will automatically be updated slightly to include a tracking parameter. For example, a destination URL of http://www.site.com may be changed to http://www.site.com?pi_ad_id={creative}. This parameter allows Prospect Insight to associate your converted prospects with a specific AdWords ad.
  • You will also see two versions of each Ad creative if you drill all the way down to the Ad level. One will be marked as Enabled and the other Disabled. When an ad is edited in AdWords, the old creative technically becomes disabled, a new enabled version is created. Prospect Insight keeps track of both versions and aggregates them in your Paid Search reports in the Reports section.
