Concept
Connectors allows Prospect Insight to sync with third party
applications such as a CRM system, paid search platforms, or email
marketing solution. Data can be passed back and forth between the two
applications allowing a user to manage many formerly disparate
marketing channels from within Prospect Insight interface.
Setting up the salesforce.com Connector
- Log into your salesforce.com administrator account and click on Setup. Click on Security Controls in the left navigation followed by Network Access. Enter the following three IP addresses that Prospect Insight will use when syncing with your salesforce.com account:
- 67.228.168.139 to 67.228.168.141
- 67.228.223.106 to 67.228.223.108
- 75.126.225.164 to 75.126.225.164
- Log into Prospect Insight. Click on the Administration in the left navigation and click Connectors in the resulting sub-navigation navigation.
- Click on + Create new connector to add a salesforce.com connector.
- Select salesforce.com from the list of vendors.
- Enter a name for the connector that will only be used internally (i.e. "salesforce.com Prospect Insight Connector")
- Enter your salesforce.com username and password. Note that if your
salesforce.com password changes, it must be changed here as well to
maintain the connection.
- Click Create Connector to save the new connection.
- Your salesforce.com connector will now appear in the table. Note that the status is marked as Not Verified. To ensure that you have properly set up the connector, click Verify Now. If Prospect Insight is able to successfully send and receive data to and from salesforce.com, the status will change to checkmark denoting a proper integration.
- Download the Prospect Insight AppExchange composite application.
Then run the installation wizard. This will automatically update your
salesforce.com account with a custom application, custom tab, and three
custom fields under leads and contacts: Prospect Insight Score,
Prospect Insight Grade, and Prospect Insight URL. Once installed, you
may need to customize your view to actually display these fields. This
will ensure that your Sales Associates can seamlessly share information
between the two programs. Download Now
Note that if your salesforce.com username or password changes, you will need to make the same change within Prospect Insight.
