Concept

The Content Report (under Reports > Content) provides reporting on content files and custom redirect links. The data includes either the number of file views or number of redirect link clicks.

File Report: Overview

The top table under Reports > Content displays file views. Since these files are hosted by Pardot, we can track when a visitor or prospect accesses the files. When you upload a file in Pardot (Marketing > Content) we generate a tracked link where that file is hosted. When a visitor or prospect clicks on the link to the file we will recognize the click and record it in your file report. The data is updated continuously so it should be close to real-time.

View options: Use the Tags dropdown, Filter field or Query Date dropdown to narrow down the data displayed in the table.

Our report statistics include views by anonymous visitors and identified prospects. Click on the name of the file to drill in further to see exactly which prospects viewed the file.

File Report: Metrics Captured

MetricDefinition
Total ViewsThe total number of views for the specific file. This includes each time unidentified visitors and identified prospects view the file. When a person views the file multiple times, each view is counted in this number.
Unique ViewsThe number of unique views for the specific file. This includes the number of unidentified visitors and identified prospects who view the file. When a person views the file multiple times, only the first view is counted in this number.

Custom Redirect Report: Overview

The second table under Reports > Content displays custom redirect clicks. When you create a custom redirect in Pardot (Marketing > Content) we generate a tracked link that redirects prospects to another Internet webpage location. Since we host the redirect links we can track when a visitor or prospect clicks on the redirect and we record the click in the custom redirect report. The data is updated continuously so it should be close to real-time.

View options: Use the Tags dropdown, Filter field or Query Date dropdown to narrow down the data displayed in the table.

Our report statistics include clicks by anonymous visitors and identified prospects. Click on the name of the custom redirect to drill in further and see exactly which prospects clicked the redirect link.
