Title: Database Engineer 
Looking for a challenge? Pardot is currently fielding applications for Database Engineers with a strong focus on MySQL database administration and architecture. We are looking for someone to join the team and help transform our database layer at scale, and have a blast doing it.
 
As part of the engineering team, you will work closely with front-end and back-end engineers to keep our infrastructure humming, diagnose and fix performance issues, and identify and implement improvements to processes or tools already in use.
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Collaborate with our Engineering, Product and Support Teams on building, maintaining and monitoring the infrastructure for our SaaS platform
  • Assist with development and implementation of new tools and processes for managing Pardot's database infrastructure
  • Participate and support on-call rotation for database issues
  • Design, optimize, and maintain a large MySQL/PHP environment
  • Identify existing and potential performance pitfalls and work with the engineers to diagnose and fix
  • Prepare Pardot’s database infrastructure for the next phase of rapid scaling

 
Requirements:
 

  • B.A./B.S. with a strong academic record or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fun, creative, and collaborative environment
  • Past experience monitoring, maintaining and tuning MySQL in a highly available environment, a central requirement
  • Experience with scaling MySQL at significant levels including sharding and master/master replication
  • Experience with configuration management as it relates to Databases a plus
  • Ability to understand SQL queries to help optimize traffic to the database layer and resolve malformed data requests
  • Knowledge and experience of running MySQL with ZFS a definite plus

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 8+ years experience in product marketing at a high tech company, or similar. MBA a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with B2B Marketing Automation products.
  • Dynamic, confident personality with ability to successfully define and drive project execution with minimal guidance amidst multiple priorities and goals.
  • Experience with business processes such as sales, ops, marketing, and customer support.
  • Experience with enterprise applications such as CRM software, ERP, customer service or homegrown solutions.
